Pre - Honeymoon Blog

Hi folks, Mrs. Baughman here...welcome to the first official blog post of the Baughman Honeymoon Extravaganza

Today's blog will focus heavily on the honeymoon preparations, mostly packing. Oy the packing...

In an effort to NOT over pack, I have managed to fit all of mine and Chris' clothes for 2 weeks into one suitcase (sans shoes, that was NEVER going to happen).
Below are some of my packing secrets:
  • Plan all of your outfits
  • Only bring enough socks and underwear for for one week and then do laundry
  • Roll your pants - saves space and prevents wrinkling
  • do not allow your husband to bring more than 1 outfit and use the rest of the suitcase for yourself
This next photo shows my "packing staging area blanket". I have been pulling it around the bedroom as I move the location of the suitcase every time my husband complains that it is in his way. On it you will see the following:
  • printed confirmations for all of our reservations
  • blow dryer and hair straightener with European outlet thingies
  • rain jackets for that awesome London weather
  • laundry bag that folds into a tiny little square for the aforementioned trip to the laundromat
  • headbands - I will be exclusively wearing headbands with flowers on them on this trip, might as well live a little ya know
  • The "Monday-Sunday" pill case (2 of them actually). I am proud to be continuing the proud Vayner family tradition of bringing a small amount of all possible (and legal) medications with you on vacation
  • Cosmetic bag filled with "minis" - no regular sized toiletries on this trip folks!
  • plastic case filled with band aids (in case the hubs gets a paper cut)

Next we have the smaller suitcase that I have yet to fill - to save on airline tickets, this is actually what Chris will be traveling to Europe in.

Speaking of the hubs, here he is showcasing his "excited face" with our two Rick Steves guide books of London and Paris. Per Rick's suggestion, we will be ripping out pages of his book so that we don't have to carry the whole thing around during the day. As a follow up to Rick's suggestion, I will then be shredding the paper in confetti and throwing it up in the air in a fit of joy.

Well that is all for now, I have to go "cook" dinner and I am tired from all this packing. Perhaps (if y'all are lucky) I will post again before we depart but I might be too busy planning the "spots that Elvis has been to in London and Paris" tour that I am planning to take Chris on.

Ciao for now!
